The house at Naumkeag was built in 1886... And it's incredible. I wasn't sure what to expect from the house tour, but since it's free with my membership, I did it. I'm really glad I did! It was extremely cool and interesting to see all of the rooms and the art. If you're into that sort of thing at all, you should do the tour. I wasn't captivated by the tour itself (the talking part/being guided around), but it was worth it to see everything. The gardens are worth visiting just to wander around.
The history of Naumkeag is very interesting, but if you're curious, you should just click the link above, which gives way more information than I can.

Summary:
- House tour fee: $15 (or TTOR annual membership)
- There is a gift shop with some food, but if I go again, I'll bring a picnic style lunch to eat in the gardens.
- Bring a book! Read. Enjoy the ridiculously beautiful and quiet gardens.
Wallpaper in the house!
Tons of succulents in the garden in front of the back entrance to the house.
